Ironbout Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 October 2026
Ironbout is a virtual reality robot fighting game made and published by Buddling Studio, an independent developer. This policy explains the information handled by the Ironbout web game, including app.ironbout.com, and its Meta Horizon Store package. For privacy questions, access, correction or deletion requests, contact hello@buddling.com with the subject Ironbout data request.
Information used while you play
The game reads headset and controller positions, orientation and control inputs to move your robot and operate its menus. Calibration and settings can include your selected height and floor/play-space adjustments. This is game input; the current game does not use it to identify you.
Settings, robot/paint choices, tournament progress, championship titles and saved fight recordings are kept in browser storage on your device. Fight recordings contain game state and robot inputs/movements used to replay the match. They are not a camera video, microphone recording or voice recording. Local progress is not currently synchronized to an Ironbout account or cloud-save service.
The current version has no real online matches or voice chat and does not request microphone access. In-app purchases are disabled. It does not request your Meta user ID, Horizon username, profile photo or purchase list for gameplay. Installing or paying for the app through Meta still involves Meta's own account and transaction processing under Meta's Privacy Policy.
The current game does not request your contacts, precise geographic location or camera images. In room/passthrough view, the headset/browser supplies the background; the game does not obtain or upload the camera feed or a room scan.
Hosting and contacting us
Loading the web game downloads its files from our hosting provider, Cloudflare. Network requests expose connection information such as an IP address, requested URL and browser/device request information to the service delivering them. Hosting and security records are separate from local fight saves and are handled under the provider's applicable policies and service settings. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
If you email us, we receive the address you send from and anything you include in the message. We use that information to answer your request. Do not send account passwords, payment card details or purchase tokens. We may need enough information to establish which data belongs to you before acting on a request.
Online features and purchases
Real multiplayer rooms, voice chat, ranked accounts, online player reporting and in-app purchases are not available in the current version. The game does not create a multiplayer identity or upload ranked fight records during ordinary play.
If these features are introduced, we will update this policy before release to explain the information they handle, why it is used, who receives it, and the available retention and deletion choices.
Analytics, advertising and sharing
The game contains no advertising or third-party player-analytics SDK. It does not sell player data or use it for advertising. Hosting and platform processing described above still take place.
We do not share your local fight recordings with other players or upload them as part of ordinary offline play. If you choose to send us a recording or other information for support, we receive what you send.
Retention and deletion
Local settings and saves remain in the site's browser storage until you delete them, clear that origin's site data, or the browser/device removes them. You can delete saved matches through the game's saved-match menu. To remove all local settings/progress/recordings, clear Ironbout's site data in the browser/device's storage controls for the origin you used. Separate origins keep separate storage. Uninstalling the launcher alone may leave browser-managed site data; do not rely on uninstall as the only deletion step.
Support correspondence is kept as needed to answer and document your request and meet applicable obligations. Hosting and security records are subject to the provider's applicable retention policies and service settings; they are not stored with your local fight recordings.
For information you have sent us, email hello@buddling.com to ask what we hold or request access, correction or deletion. We will handle requests under applicable requirements, including any required identity checks and retention exceptions. Clearing local browser data does not delete messages you sent to support or information Meta holds.
Meta account and transaction information is managed through Meta's account/privacy tools and applicable store processes. Deleting local game data does not refund or delete a platform purchase. Any later Ironbout account deletion process will be described when accounts are introduced.
Children and policy changes
Ironbout is intended for players aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact hello@buddling.com.
We will update this policy and its date when the game changes how it handles information, including before real online, voice, ranked or purchase features are released. Questions about this policy: hello@buddling.com.
